Workshops and Events

Lamoille County is approximately 80% forested, with the majority of farmland located in the Lamoille River Valley. A robust network of small, diversified farms, a strong maple and timber industry, and recent flooding concerns have led to outreach efforts that are focused on forestry and agroforestry practices. In addition, the 2024-2025 locally led conservation process (co-organized with the Franklin and Grand Isle Natural Resources Conservation Districts), which included a survey and meetings attended by various stakeholders, revealed a strong interest among Lamoille County residents, landowners, and farmers in maintaining our working landscape for habitat, biodiversity, invasive species control, flood mitigation, and economic and recreational opportunities. Below are some recent workshops and events coordinated by LCCD:

  • Agroforestry Workshop (summer 2024)
  • Locally-Led Conservation (winter 2024-2025)
  • Fruit Tree Pruning Workshop (spring 2025)
