Red Osier Dogwood (Cornus sericea L. ssp. sericea)

Growing Conditions: Moist, well-drained soils. Adaptable to a wide range of soil and climatic conditions.

Ecological Benefits: Its fruit attracts numerous mammals and birds, particularly waterfowl, and is a very important pollinator of bees and butterflies. Larval host for the Spring Azur Moth. Great planting for riparian and lakeshore plantings.
