Conservation Practice Surveys
While we are here to assist producers with accessing state and federal cost-share programs to implement conservation practices that protect and improve water quality in Vermont, many farmers are doing so without financial assistance. In order to better track and reflect important conservation efforts that are happening in our region, we need to hear from our farmers who are implementing any of the following practices independently of state or federal programs:
- Livestock exclusion from surface waters
- Forested riparian buffers
- Filter strip riparian buffers
- Forested ditch buffers
- Filter strip ditch buffers
- Conservation crop rotation, change in crop rotation, strip cropping
- Conservation tillage, reduced till, no till
- Cover crop, nurse crop
- Forage and biomass planting
- Crop to hay
- Manure injection
