Summer 2010 Camp Programs

The Lamoille County Natural Resources Conservation District and Nature Center is gearing up for another
great summer season...

We provide scholarships to families who cannot afford normal tuition, but wish to enroll in its programs. Anyone who fits the criteria is encouraged to apply.

The Lamoille County Nature Center is Community-based and is owned and operated by the Lamoille County Natural Resources Conservation District. 

 The District established the Nature Center in 1991 to expand its programs to meet the environmental education needs of the people of Northern Vermont. 

The Lamoille County Nature Center is a 40-acre preserve of diverse habitat.  The Center offers two self guided nature trails, a pond, an amphitheater, a willow nursery, a council size Sioux tipi, and a wildflower garden.

The Nature Center provides a spectacular outdoor classroom setting.  The unique diversity of habitats allows for investigation of a variety of plants and animals.  The natural display of each season adds to the classroom atmosphere.

The Nature Center offers programs for all ages. 

These programs include:

  • Lectures and talks on wildlife, natural history and environmental concerns
  • Workshops for landowners on wildlife and forestry topics
  • Seasonal theme programs for area schools
  • Summer and winter Junior Naturalist program
  • Walks, hikes, snowshoeing and nature crafts with local naturalists and staff
  • Special events and celebrations
  • Coordinated programs with other private, federal, state and local organizations/agencies.
